
In simple words, IOT is network of interconnected devices.These devices are embedded with sensors,intenet and are able to exchange data.
A home automation system can control lighting,air conditioning and other electrical appliances with very less or no human interference.
Automating Electricity need
We waste nearly 10% electricity every month due to our negligence. Keeping lights,thermostats,and electrical appliances ON when not in use is the major cause.
What we need is an innovation and change which people will lovingly embrace.
Model
It contains an app and system. The system is either in an automated state (i.e it is controlled with the help of sensors) or can be controlled through an app.The android app also has voice command available that can act as our assistant and can control the lights and fan as per our need.

- LM-35 sensor(Temperature sensor)
- IR sensors(Count of persons in the system premisis)
- LDR(Measure light intensity)
- Motor Driver(L293D - To control rpm of DC motor)
- 74HC4051_d(Analog multiplexer)
- DC Motor
- LED bulbs
- Jumper wires(ofcourse :) )

These sensors measures the respective quantities and as soon as an object enters,appliances turn ON a/c to the temperature ,number of people,light intensity.
Android app
This app is developed with flutter and is connected to Firebase Realtime database to control the system remotely.



Caveat
Although Home automation is awesome , but there comes many potential vulnerabilities and security issues with IoT devices.
Conclusion
There are many security,performance improvements taking place and different security protocols beign developed for making use of IOT secure and reliable.
The global IoT market is expected to reach a value of USD 1256.1 billion by 2025 from USD 690 billion in 2019 at a CAGR of 10.53%, during the period 2020-2025.
IOT has a great market and is expected to grow exponentially.It is equally interesting.
